While anytime of year is quite perfect for a delicious fruit smoothie or a rich, thick milkshake, there’s really no time like summer to enjoy a cool frozen drink day or night. I love making homemade shakes and smoothies. When you make them at home you can just play with all sorts of ingredients. Maybe you’re in the mood for mango - you can just toss some frozen mango chunks together with some milk or vanilla ice cream and make a yummy summer drink. And if you’re not a milk drinker, it’s so easy to substitute soy ice cream or soy milk instead. That’s the beauty of making your own frozen drinks, you make make them just the way you like it. This Oster Classic Chrome Milkshake Mixer is a great little machine for making all sorts of frozen concoctions. Read more

If you’ve been pouring maple syrup over your blueberry pancakes, you’re missing a real treat. Don’t get me wrong, maple syrup is yummy, but doesn’t compare to a fabulously sweet and beautiful Blueberry Topping. You know what the color of blueberries does to the pancake. Well, the gorgeous deep purple color really stands out when you make the topping. It’s not only beautiful, but the flavor of the blueberries intensifies when you cook it up and turn it into this incredible topping. I like to top it off with just a bit of whipped cream for a little cool, smooth added sweetness. Read more

When Sylvester Stallone starred in the movie “Cobra” way back in 1986, he personally ordered this particular design of made by Herman Schneider. And then it was used throughout the film by the “Night Slasher” character in the film. This is the reason why this Cobra movie knife is probably one of the most unique ones in the Master Cutlery collection. Read more

I tremble to see my wife coming at me with a bucket of water, a mop and the words “Spring Cleaning” on her lips. I always try to book my fly-fishing trip for the weekend I think she’ll pick to do it, but it never matters. It’s always waiting for me when I return. It’s not the cleaning that bothers me, it’s trying to find a new place to keep all the stuff. I always end up at the door of the spare bedroom at the end of the hall, staring like a wimp at a pile of belongings that I know I’ll never conquer. I’ll just move it around a little and rearrange the pile before closing the door and calling it done. I guess that’s why my wife bought a large shed last fall, and moved the contents of an entire spare bedroom - except for the actual items that originally qualified it as a bedroom - out there. Wall tapestries have been around since Hellenistic times. Greek wall tapestry hangings have been found preserved in the desert - Tarim Basin dating all the way back to the 3rd century BC. Wall tapestries reached a new stage in Europe around the fourteenth century AD. France and the Netherlands were the first to jump into the textile trade and hone their skills. In the 14th and 15th centuries the industry was thriving in France. These were expensive and only the royalty seemed to afford them for the palace and the castles. Then the French Revolution came and nearly all of these beautiful tapestries were burned up to get to the gold used in the threads of these weavings. A few were saved and are housed in museums for safe keeping and the general public to enjoy. Read more

I visit the local bars on a regular basis and I’ve always wanted to get into the basics of making drinks at home, just to try my hand at it. My girlfriend got me the 13 Piece Bartender Kit for my birthday last year and I have to say I love it. It’s not an overly fancy set, but I’ve been able to make all my favorite drinks so far with it, and I’ve even learned a few new ones. Read more

When setting up a campsite for any extended amount of time in the great outdoors, few things are as important as having access to clean drinking water; with the exception of having to store your drinking water in, of course. This is where your average, modern day camping and military style Canteens will come in handy. And while they are a simple device, there have been a lot of improvements and innovations made over the past few years that make the newer Canteens worth the purchase. Read more

Wedding Invitations intimidate many brides. It’s a big decision that needs to be made early in the wedding planning process. This is actually because you’ll need to send the invite cards out 2 to 3 months before. As a consequence, it’ll be an excellent idea for you to buy this item as earlier rather than later. To this end, you’ll need to start your marriage planning work as fast as you make a decision to get married.
Of course, it will take some time before you can get the finished wedding invitations. And the lead time may change based primarily on your wants. Totally custom invitations can take up to 4 months or more to complete. If you go this route, you will likely need to order a good 9 months before your important day.
Naturally the case can be different if you’re going to order DIY print at home wedding invitation kits. These can ship out in a day or two and arrive at your doorstep within two weeks. Then just follow the easy to use templates and your invites could be in the mail in a matter of weeks, not months.
If you are looking for a source of these print yourself invites, just check out The Wedding Shop for all your wedding needs. This is a whole store within a store at Eye Candy Gift.
