Lost Marbles

Several years ago, a dear friend of mine asked me to serve as Maid of Honor in her wedding.  Of course I readily accepted, not suspecting that wedding preparations would turn Holly into the bride from Hades.  As the time to select bridesmaids gowns approached, Holly began ordering me to lose weight, or else I would not be in her wedding.  I dieted and exercised in order to please my friend, but nothing seemed good enough in her eyes.

The day of the wedding finally arrived.  I slipped into my dress with ease and then focused on helping the bride into her gown.  Much to Holly’s dismay, and admittedly to my secret delight, we could not manage to completely zip her gown.  In the end, Holly was forced to eat a piece of humble pie as she marched down the aisle with a safety-pinned gown.
